Grand Lake is a year round destination. During the summer you can enjoy boating on the 3 lakes (Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, and Lake Granby), hiking, mountain biking, ATVs, 4th of July fireworks, and the list goes on. Perhaps the greatest year round draw of the area is Rocky Mountain National Park with its amazing scenery and abundance of wildlife. Moose sightings are very common in Grand Lake due to the natural habitat.
During the winter months this area is the snowmobiling capital of Colorado with over 100 miles of groomed trails. Snowmobile rentals are available and you can drive from the driveway to the trailhead. Skiing choices are plentiful between Ski Granby Ranch nearby, Winter Park and the legendary champagne powder of Steamboat Springs. Take the kids sledding, pack your snowshoes for a hike, or visit the nearby Nordic Center.
